Striking statement from Dervişoğlu: Erdoğan determined the timing of resignations from İYİ Party

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, whose party has been experiencing a loss of blood with the departure of deputies since the change in leadership, made striking statements about the deputies who left his party during a live broadcast on Sözcütv.

He stated that some of the names who left the party had contacts with AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, that their departure schedules from the İYİ Party were discussed during these contacts, and that the timing of the departures was determined by President Erdoğan. 

Müsavat Dervişoğlu spoke as follows:

I know that one of the resigning deputies met with Erdoğan and that they planned a schedule for the departure; I even know that they were encouraged to accelerate the resignation process.

Regarding the departing deputies, I can only say: may the AKP enjoy them.

Behind these transfers lie dreams of constitutional change; it is very important for them to make this change in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) with the joint approval of 400 deputies through political alliances! The ruling party cannot pass anything through a referendum in its current state, so it needs political alliances, and I also associate the rapprochement with DEM with this search.

If 400 cannot be found, I see steps being taken to secure a parliamentary majority of 365, which could lead to early elections. Since only the İYİ Party is resisting the process in this way, it is natural for them to dream of a parliament without the İYİ Party!

Since becoming chairman, I have not spoken to anyone who left our party about changing their mind.

I have made statements about political honor in public spaces. I say that you cannot go to another party with the votes given to you, and when you do so, your political honor is questioned.

HE SPOKE ABOUT KÜRŞAD ZORLU'S DEPARTURE

Mr. Kürşad is a member of our foreign affairs committee; he had other expectations and calculations for a long time. Such things happen in politics; within our ranks, he was known more for his closeness to AKP ministers and his conversations with them than for his work with the İYİ Party... If I say too much, they will be offended.

I know that politics cannot be done with people who do not share a common cause, goal, or ideal; I am interested in those who stay, not those who leave.
