Details emerge regarding the commission's visit to İmralı: No state officials present
Following a vote in the commission for a terror-free Turkey, it was planned that designated members from the AKP, MHP, and DEM Party would visit İmralı. Information regarding the visit that took place has begun to emerge.

The visit lasted a total of 2 hours and 50 minutes. It was learned that the meeting involved only the members of parliament and the leader of the PKK terrorist organization, Abdullah Öcalan, and that no state officials were present.
Following the visit, the delegation is expected to provide a detailed briefing to the commission at tomorrow's meeting.
The commission delegation, which included Hüseyin Yayman from the AKP, Feti Yıldız from the MHP, and Gülistan Koçyiğit from the DEM Party, traveled to the İmralı High-Security Prison following the decision.
According to information obtained, the meeting lasted approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes and was held one-on-one with Öcalan. The members of the delegation provided information to their respective party leaderships immediately after the meeting.
STATEMENT FROM THE TBMM REGARDING THE VISIT
The Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), in a written statement issued yesterday, recalled the decision taken at the commission's last meeting and stated the following:
“At the 18th meeting of the commission held on November 21, 2025, a decision was reached by a qualified majority regarding the hearing of Abdullah Öcalan at the İmralı High-Security Prison. In line with this, the delegation traveled to İmralı on November 24, 2025.”
The statement further noted that following the Peace and Democratic Society Call on February 27, questions regarding the organization's messages on self-dissolution and laying down arms, as well as the implementation of the March 10 agreement in Syria, were directed to Öcalan, and detailed responses were received.
It was emphasized that the outcomes obtained from the meeting are important in terms of social integration, strengthening bonds of brotherhood, and the positive progress of the process from a regional perspective. The statement concluded with the words, “The commission will continue to pursue its goals with determination in the next phase.”
ALL EYES ON TOMORROW'S MEETING
The National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission is expected to receive a comprehensive presentation from the delegation regarding the visit at its meeting tomorrow.

DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları described the İmralı meeting as a “historic step” and reiterated her call for the minutes to be made public.
