Details of AKP's stray dog regulation clarified: Euthanasia was being discussed

Details regarding the AKP's work on stray dog regulations have emerged. Accordingly, stray dogs will first be collected, neutered, and cared for, after which incentives will be provided for their adoption.

The AKP is continuing its work on stray dog regulations.

According to information obtained, notes from 4 ministries regarding the issue have been delivered to Group Deputy Chairman Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu.

OPINIONS WILL BE SOUGHT FROM ACADEMICS AND RELEVANT NGOS

Yenişehirlioğlu will seek opinions from both the AKP group and from academics and relevant NGOs that have conducted qualified research on the subject. The consultation process is expected to last 1 week or 10 days. 

In the subsequent process, after the dogs are collected, neutered, and cared for, incentives will be provided for their adoption.

Sources provided information that a study will be prepared including practices regarding the euthanasia of dogs that are not adopted.

The final version of the study will be submitted to the approval of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan before being presented to parliament as a legislative proposal. 

It was stated that the judicial package is expected to come to parliament next week.
