Details of SPK's letter to the prosecutor's office in the fund investigation revealed

Details of the letter sent by the Capital Markets Board (SPK) to the prosecutor's office as part of the fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have emerged.

The letter, signed by SPK Chairman Mahmut Sütcü, referenced the findings included in the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's investigation file. The letter stated that it was determined there is strong suspicion that the developments constitute the crime of "market manipulation" as regulated under Article 107 of the Capital Markets Law No. 6362, and that criminal proceeds were obtained through this method.

The letter reported that, in accordance with the decision of the SPK Board dated September 17, 2026, 131 funds were closed to buying and selling transactions on the Turkey Electronic Fund Trading Platform (TEFAS).

In the SPK's letter, it was stated that it would be beneficial to re-evaluate the aforementioned findings regarding the companies and funds mentioned in the investigation. The letter noted, "It is considered that it would be beneficial to re-evaluate your aforementioned findings in terms of the companies included in the list of responsible legal entities and the funds included in the list of responsible funds."
