Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Barım is expected to be referred to the courthouse in the coming hours following the completion of her police procedures.
ACTORS ALSO INCLUDED IN THE INVESTIGATION
In a statement regarding the investigation, it was stated that actors who are under contract with Ayşe Barım's agency and have not yet been questioned will also be called in to provide information.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into talent manager Ayşe Barım following allegations in print and visual media regarding her participation in the Gezi Park protests.
Barım was detained on charges of "attempting to overthrow the Government of the Republic of Turkey or to prevent it from performing its duties" on the grounds that she was one of the 'planners' of the Gezi Park protests.
Within the scope of the investigation, actors Halit Ergenç, Bergüzar Korel, Mehmet Günsür, Ceyda Düvenci, Nejat İşler, Rıza Kocaoğlu, and Nehir Erdoğan had previously given statements as "witnesses."
On the other hand, Ayşe Barım, who is the founder and partner of ID Communications Limited Company and manages many famous actors, has also come to the fore with allegations of causing a monopoly in the sector, and it has been claimed that she pushed actors who opposed her out of the market.
A separate investigation is also being conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding these allegations.
An 8-hour search was conducted at the company of Barım, who faces the charge of "Attempting to Overthrow the Government of the Republic of Turkey or to Prevent it from Performing its Duties."
FAMOUS ACTORS HAD TESTIFIED
Famous names had been called to testify regarding the investigation in which Barım was detained.
Halit Ergenç, Bergüzar Korel, Dolunay Soysert, Rıza Kocaoğlu, Mehmet Günsür, and Nehir Erdoğan had come to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan and given statements as witnesses.
