An 8-year-old child who choked after a sandwich she was eating at school got stuck in her windpipe in Düzce has passed away at the hospital despite all interventions.

It has been announced that an 8-year-old child who choked after a sandwich she was eating got stuck in her windpipe in Düzce has passed away.
The incident occurred at Işık Primary School located in Çay Neighborhood. 2nd-grade student Eftelya Kaymak (8) was eating a sandwich with her friends during recess when it suddenly got stuck in her windpipe. Her friends, noticing that Eftelya Kaymak could not breathe, informed their teachers. While teachers at the school attempted to intervene, medical teams were also notified. Following the intervention by medical teams at the scene, little Eftelya was rushed to the Düzce Atatürk State Hospital emergency department. Despite all efforts by doctors there, the little girl passed away. Her family, who arrived at the hospital upon hearing the news, suffered nervous breakdowns.
A comprehensive investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
