Dilek İmamoğlu establishes platform for families of detainees: Notable statement on Emine Erdoğan

Dilek İmamoğlu, wife of CHP's detained presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, announced that she has formed a new platform to show solidarity with the families of detainees.

As reported by Sözcü, İmamoğlu stated that this platform will work toward the release of individuals held in detention pending trial and to raise public awareness. In her statement in Beylikdüzü, she expressed that she will now be more actively involved in the field.

STATEMENT ON EMİNE ERDOĞAN

Dilek İmamoğlu noted that she has not yet received a response to the call she made to Emine Erdoğan, emphasizing that continuing detention pending trial without evidence is a great injustice. Highlighting the difficulties faced by women and children in particular during this process, İmamoğlu said that the public conscience cannot accept this situation.

PUBLIC CONSCIENCE AND SENSE OF JUSTICE

İmamoğlu stated that this process is not just an issue for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality or the Republican People's Party (CHP), but a matter of the entire public's conscience and sense of justice. She expressed that the petition campaign launched for Ekrem İmamoğlu's freedom and for early elections is an important part of this struggle. She described this campaign as a joint effort by everyone who wants to protect the future of the Republic of Turkey.

STRUGGLING AGAINST DIFFICULTIES

Dilek İmamoğlu stated that people are being separated from their loved ones through baseless allegations and secret witnesses, adding that they are fighting against a great evil. She expressed that detainees are being transferred to prisons far from their families and are being confronted with slander. İmamoğlu emphasized that the detainees inside are trying to cope with both their own hardships and the situation of their families on the outside.
