Dilek İmamoğlu reacts to courtroom and trial schedule: 'Is this what we are going to boast about?'
Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu expressed her reaction to the fact that the hearing in the Ekrem İmamoğlu case was scheduled months later and that no release decision was made for any of the detainees, while also criticizing the large courtroom planned to be built in Silivri, stating that the process violates the right to defense and personal liberty.

Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, wife of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, made statements regarding the courtroom stated to be built in Silivri and the trial schedule.
Reacting to the late preparation of the preliminary proceedings report for the IMM case and the fact that no release decision was made for any of the detainees, Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu noted that scheduling the hearing months later effectively eliminates the right to defense.
Emphasizing that the process has been proceeding with constitutional violations from the very beginning, Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu also criticized the large courtroom whose construction has begun at Silivri Prison.

"DOES OUR COUNTRY DESERVE THIS?"
In a post on her social media account, Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu used the following expressions regarding the judicial process:
"The indictment was announced on November 11, 2025. Exactly 1 month later, today, the preliminary proceedings report was prepared and the hearing date was set for March 9, 2026. While our loved ones have been held captive inside for months unjustly, unlawfully, entirely for political motives, without evidence and lacking concrete grounds, not a single person was released in the preliminary proceedings report. All 106 people will continue to be held captive with a seemingly standard justification. The hearing, on the other hand, was set for exactly 3 months later. Do you know what all this means? It means that these innocent people will be held captive inside for 1 year just to be able to use their right to defense and defend themselves in court.
Now we learn that; they are going to build the largest courtroom in Europe in Silivri(!) Does our country deserve this? Is this what we are going to boast about? Our right to defense is being ignored, the right to personal liberty and security is being violated, and the entire process has been carried out from the very beginning by violating all our Constitutional rights. Let this legal travesty end now. Let the requirements of being a state of law, as written in Article 2 of our Constitution, be revived. Not only us, the families of the detainees, but our country also needs to take a breath. Do not do this evil to us or to our country any longer."
