Dilek İmamoğlu reacts to insults against Erdoğan's family: 'Nothing good comes from hate, what conscience allows attacking the memory of mothers?'

While reactions to the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu continue, an unidentified group staged a provocative demonstration in Saraçhane and directed insults at AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his family.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated, "I consider those insults to have been directed at my own mother," firmly rejecting the abusive rhetoric, and a statement on the matter also came from Ekrem İmamoğlu's wife, Dilek İmamoğlu.

Sharing on her X account, Dilek İmamoğlu reacted to the insults and profanity directed at Erdoğan and his family.

Dilek İmamoğlu's post is as follows:

"Insulting a politician's mother; attempting to use a mother or a woman as material for politics in this way is absolutely unacceptable. What conscience allows for attacking the memory of mothers?

In this country, we have stood against all forms of violence shown toward mothers, women, and girls. And we will continue to do so. We will never stray from our conscience, peace, and love. Regardless of our views, beliefs, or origins, we women, in particular, will use the language of love. We know that nothing good comes from hate. That is why we will always look out for one another in the face of all ill intentions."
