Dilruba Kayserilioğlu, who was arrested and held for 18 days due to her comments in a street interview regarding the access ban imposed on Instagram, was released the previous night (August 29) around 21:00.
Kayserilioğlu attended the opening ceremony of the 93rd İzmir International Fair yesterday (August 30) alongside Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel.
Dilruba Kayserilioğlu, who was arrested due to her remarks in the street interview, had been released in the middle of the night without her family or lawyer being notified.
Speaking to Sözcü, Dilruba Kayserilioğlu said, "My release was as absurd as my arrest."
'EVERYTHING PROCEEDED IN A VERY ABSURD AND IRRELEVANT MANNER'
Kayserilioğlu stated the following:
"I am happy, of course, but since the trial process is still ongoing, I cannot say much. After the 3rd, I will express myself in a healthier way if given the opportunity.
I was notified around 16:30-17:00, but I left at a later hour. I left around 21:30-22:00, and it was 01:00 by the time I got home. However, my family, my lawyers, no one had been notified.
I waited by borrowing a phone from a citizen who happened to be passing by. It was a very strange, sudden process. My release was as absurd as my arrest.
Actually, I was expecting not to go in at all. After I went in, I expected to get out much sooner. But I also did not expect to be released in that manner. Everything proceeded in a very absurd and irrelevant manner."
