According to the April 2025 Wage Loss Monitoring Report published by DİSK-AR, the blow dealt by inflation to labor income reached 134.2 billion TL in just the first three months of the year.
The Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey Research Center (DİSK-AR) has published its third report titled "Wage Loss Monitoring Report (April 2025)." The report presents detailed data on how high inflation, along with unfair taxes and deductions, has eroded the income of workers. In the January-March 2025 period alone, the total income loss of workers was calculated to be at least 134 billion 228 million TL.
The report details the losses caused by the 10.06 percent official inflation rate in the first three months of 2025 on the salaries of workers, civil servants, and retirees.
In the January-March 2025 period:
Total wage loss for workers: 75.6 billion TL
Total loss in civil servant salaries: 28.1 billion TL
Total loss in retiree pensions: 30.6 billion TL
Thus, the total three-month loss in labor income reached 134.2 billion TL.
The impact of inflation on individual wages has also reached remarkable levels.
A net minimum wage earner suffered a loss of 2,224 TL in March.
A worker earning 1.5 times the minimum wage lost 3,159 TL,
A worker earning 2 times the minimum wage lost 4,094 TL,
A worker earning 2.5 times the minimum wage lost 4,990 TL,
And a worker earning 3 times the minimum wage experienced a loss of 5,758 TL.
