In recent days, a dismembered baby corpse was found in the Yukarı Tekke rocky area of Sivas' Kılavuz neighborhood.
Some parts taken from the body of the unidentified male baby had been sent to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute.
Teams from the Sivas Municipality Cemetery Affairs Directorate removed the wooden marker that read "Angel baby, unknown" from the grave of the baby, who was buried in the children's section of the Yukarı Tekke Cemetery, and replaced it with a tombstone featuring a heart figure and the inscription "The sinless rose of heaven."
SECURITY CAMERA OVERLOOKING THE SCENE WAS EXAMINED
Following the incident, police teams began a retrospective examination of the security camera footage from the Sivas Municipality Cemetery Directorate that overlooks the area.
It was stated that the only angle showing the location where the baby was found was reviewed for approximately 1 month, in an attempt to determine if anyone had entered the area.
THE TRUTH HAS EMERGED
As a result of the police investigation, the truth turned out to be quite different. The stillborn baby had been buried by its family right next to its previously deceased older brother.
STRAY DOGS DUG IT UP
Stray dogs dug the buried baby out of the grave. The baby's corpse, which had been dragged to the vacant lot by stray dogs, was spotted by citizens and reported to the police.
Teams from the Sivas Police Department conducted an investigation today at the grave where the stillborn baby was initially buried.
