Mayor Şahin stated that the images were distressing and that an investigation had been launched. Şahin said, “In the investigation we conducted yesterday, we determined that the incident was intentionally leaked to the outside to provoke our animal-loving friends and to discredit our municipality.”
NEW REGULATION FOR ADOPTION PROCESSES
Touching upon the regulations regarding animal adoption procedures at the shelter, Şahin said that transactions would be carried out with official records in accordance with the “Regulation on the Implementation of Animal Protection” which came into effect on December 13, 2024. He stated that this regulation aims to ensure a healthier and more orderly process.
'WE ARE WORKING ON A LIVING CENTER MODEL'
Stating that they are planning a model that will increase animal welfare, Şahin said, “Beyond a shelter, we want to create a living center. Our work continues on a model where animals can live in welfare and animal lovers can contribute through volunteering.”
Şahin expressed that they aim to improve the living conditions of stray animals, adding that they will create a safer and healthier environment by working together.
