Diyanet issues sermon on drugs and prostitution
Following a series of allegations regarding prostitution and drugs, the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) delivered important messages to young people in its Friday sermon. The sermon emphasized that behaviors such as drug use and adultery turn human life into a dungeon.

The drug allegations involving former Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy have dominated Turkey's agenda. Sercan Yaşar, whose name was mentioned alongside Ersoy, was released following his effective remorse statements. Following Yaşar's release, operations targeting famous figures took place yesterday. Aleyna Tilki, İrem Sak, and Danla Bilic were detained and subsequently released. Arrest warrants were also issued for several other celebrities.
THIS SERMON FOLLOWED THE OPERATIONS
Following these operations that have become the talk of Turkey, a notable sermon was issued by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet).
In the sermon prepared for Friday prayers, it was stated that drugs waste one's mind and health. It was further noted that instead of turning toward worship, adultery and prostitution turn 'life into a dungeon.' The Diyanet's sermon is as follows:
"O Young Brother/Sister!
You are living in the most fruitful period of the life granted to you. You are among those whom our Prophet (pbuh) mentioned as being under the shade of the throne on the Day of Judgment, when there will be no other shade.[1] It is in your hands to spend this period of your life either with beneficial deeds that will lead to eternal happiness or with mistakes that you will regret later. It is in your hands to bless your time by bringing your forehead to prostration, or to waste it with alcohol that clouds your mind and drugs that endanger your health. It is in your hands to spend your days fasting and finding tranquility, or to turn your life into a dungeon with adultery and prostitution. It is in your hands to become a neighbor to our Prophet (pbuh) in the eternal realm for a small good deed you do or for making an orphan happy, or to turn your own life and the lives of your loved ones into a dungeon with gambling and games of chance that extinguish homes."
