The Presidency of Religious Affairs' Friday sermon dated August 15, which focused on the rights of others (kul hakkı), has become the center of controversy over the 'inheritance rights of daughters'. While debates continue regarding the sermon, which is inconsistent with the Civil Code, a notable statement has come from the MHP. MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız delivered a message of justice in a post on the social media platform X.
Yıldız's words, "Material truth is reached by adhering to the universal principles and foundations of law. The first thing to be said for justice is that it is God's command," drew attention.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Presidency of Religious Affairs included notable expressions regarding inheritance law in the Friday sermon prepared for recitation in mosques across 81 provinces on August 15. In the sermon titled "The Rights of Others are a Shirt of Fire," it was emphasized that one must "be content with the right ordained by God" in the distribution of inheritance.

The sermon stated, "Changing the inheritance measure set by our Almighty Lord without mutual consent is contrary to divine justice. Therefore, it is a violation of the rights of others for a person to deprive daughters of their inheritance, and for daughters not to be content with the right ordained by God."
