DMM: Claims that 'teachers at prestigious high schools were suspended or dismissed' are baseless

The DMM issued a statement regarding allegations concerning teacher appointments at project schools. 

DMM's statement:

"Claims appearing in some media outlets and shared on social media accounts that 'teachers at prestigious high schools were suspended or dismissed' are baseless.

'Suspension from duty' is a decision taken based on an investigation initiated as a result of a criminal element. There is no such situation as the suspension or dismissal of the teachers in question.

Assignments for the project schools in question are planned for a duration of at least four and at most eight years. A re-evaluation is conducted at the end of the term.

In this context, teachers whose terms expired were determined and announced by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education on February 6-10, 2025. Between February 12 and February 19, 2025, all teachers and administrators whose terms expired were granted the right by the ministry to choose 10 schools. The placement results were announced on April 8, 2025.

For those who could not be placed in any school due to the non-realization of appointments based on teachers' preferences and the narrowing of teacher norms in some schools, the regulation is as follows;

The relevant teachers will be placed in their new schools within the province and district, in accordance with their preferences, in educational institutions where there is a need in their respective branches, based on their service points seniority.

In this process, there is no grievance regarding the teachers' personal rights and career steps."
