The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has denied the claim that "the government is blocking the issuance of Schengen visas to Turkish citizens in order to prevent foreign currency outflow."
A statement was issued by the DMM regarding the claim, which was shared by social media accounts used by FETÖ for manipulation purposes, that "the government is blocking the issuance of Schengen visas to Turkish citizens in order to prevent foreign currency outflow."
The statement noted that embassies are continuing their efforts to resolve the issue regarding appointments that have been pushed to later dates due to the high volume of visa applications,
"Claims that 'applications have been closed' or 'blocked' due to appointments being given for later dates are completely untrue.
Do not give credence to the manipulation campaigns of terrorist organizations." the statement read.
