Doctor attacks tenant who refused to move out with an axe

The incident occurred yesterday at the Loca Sitesi in the Kartepe district. According to allegations, the doctor, identified as I.A., had asked his tenant, Hayri S.D., to vacate the house he had purchased some time ago.

While the landlord, I.A., gave the tenant a 6-month notice to move out, a dispute arose between them after some time.

A verbal argument broke out between landlord I.A. and Hayri S.D. over the phone. Following this, I.A. showed up at his tenant's door with an axe. Both parties assaulted each other.

I.A., who was swinging the axe around, injured his tenant on the hand and head. As the tenant collapsed to the ground covered in blood, medical teams arrived at the scene upon notification and transported the injured man to the hospital by ambulance. The tenant, who received stitches to his head, filed a complaint against the landlord. Police teams detained I.A. regarding the incident. After giving his statement, the landlord was released by the court under judicial control conditions. The moment of the incident was captured moment-by-moment on security camera. The footage showed the landlord entering the site in his car, taking the axe from his vehicle, swinging it around, and injuring his tenant.

"HE CALLED ME OVER USING PROFANITIES"

In his statement, landlord I.A. said, "About 2 months ago, I sold my house across from Kocaeli City Hospital and bought an apartment at the Kartepe Loca site to live in myself.

I went to the individuals living in the apartment I purchased and told them I had no other house and that I would be living in this one myself. Hayri told me he could move out within 6 months, or even sooner.

I sent a formal notice to Hayri through a lawyer. I have not called Hayri until today. Since I had no house to live in, I was staying with my father-in-law. Today, I called Hayri and asked, 'Have you found a house?' to ask when he could move out. Hayri used profanities at me and called me over, saying, 'No one can get me out of here, come here.' I said 'I'm coming' and hung up the phone. I definitely did not insult Hayri," he said.

"WE GOT INTO A FIGHT WITH WHATEVER I COULD GET MY HANDS ON"

Stating that he went to the site where he bought the house, I.A. said, "First, I wanted to talk to Hayri; at that moment, I didn't have anything in my hand. Hayri insulted me, kicked me, and started attacking. Because he insulted my honor and my relative, I got into a fight with whatever I could get my hands on in a sudden fit of anger.

This situation took place on the stairs of the apartment entrance. In a sudden fit of anger, I took the axe that was in the trunk of the car and headed toward the apartment.

Hayri was still trying to hit me. I don't remember how I hit Hayri or how I injured him. They took the axe out of my hand directly. Hayri's father-in-law locked onto me and started hitting me. It was Hayri who actually hit me," he said.

"I DID NOT INTENTIONALLY PUT THE AXE IN THE TRUNK"

Stating that the tenant and his father-in-law hit him, I.A. said, "They assaulted me by punching and kicking my neck, face, and head.

They continued to assault me until the police arrived. I was using this axe to split wood while picnicking. In fact, there are picnic and fishing supplies in my trunk.

I did not intentionally put the axe in the trunk. I definitely did not use it as a criminal element beforehand. They continued to insult me. Even while going to the police vehicle, Hayri tried to attack me and continued to use profanities," he stated.
