Doctor Enes Özel, who called for a boycott, has been detained!
It has been reported that content creator and psychiatrist Enes Özel is among the 16 people detained as part of an investigation into a boycott campaign launched following protests against the potential imprisonment of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. The Istanbul Chamber of Physicians and the Psychiatric Association of Turkey have called for Dr. Özel's immediate release.

As reactions continue following the operation targeting Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, İBB personnel, and CHP mayors, a boycott was carried out across Turkey yesterday.
Detention warrants were issued for 16 people as part of an investigation launched into these boycott calls. In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 11 people, including actor Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu and doctor Enes Özel, were detained in the morning hours.
LAWYER ANNOUNCED
Enes Özel's lawyer, Gülşen Başarır, announced that her client had been detained on her social media account with the following words:
'Enes was detained from his home last night due to his boycott-related posts. I accompanied him as his lawyer; he will be referred to the courthouse today. He is doing very well, but the only thing he is thinking about is his patients. He asked me to announce and spread the word that he will not be able to conduct his sessions because he cannot reach them.'
'WE DEMAND HIS IMMEDIATE RELEASE!'
'We learned tonight that 16 people, including our colleague Muhammed Enes Özel, were detained from their homes and will be referred to the courthouse after their statements are taken. It is not a crime for people to express their thoughts, which is their constitutional right, and to share them with the public.
It is unacceptable to attempt to criminalize the most fundamental human rights and freedoms, to restrict the freedom of people who could have come to give statements when requested by detaining them at night, and for the detention process to turn into a tool of pressure. We demand the immediate release of those detained, including our colleague Muhammed Enes Özel!'
