"Queer Planet" will examine gay penguins, bisexual lions, and clownfish that change their sex in detail. One of the experts interviewed for the documentary stated that "this kind of stigma exists only among humans regarding this subject."

Andrew Rannells, who will host the documentary, said in a promotional clip that went viral on social media, "The idea of having only two fixed genders is clearly outdated. Mother Nature is quite open-minded."
