Donald Trump met with Zelensky: 'We could strike Iran tonight'

Following the conclusion of the NATO Leaders' Summit held in Ankara, US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met.

The two leaders made statements to the press after their meeting, sharing their assessments regarding the Russia-Ukraine war and regional developments.

TRUMP: "PUTIN AND ZELENSKY WANT TO REACH AN AGREEMENT"

Evaluating the meeting, US President Donald Trump said they had a productive discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Trump stated, "Putin and Zelensky want to reach an agreement. We had a good meeting, we will see how it goes. Putin is a tough character, and so is Zelensky. We have made progress in the last few weeks."

ZELENSKY: "WE ARE FOCUSING ON PEACE"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the US for its support and noted that the meeting covered important topics.

Zelensky said, "As always, we are grateful for the support of the US; what was discussed here was very valuable. We will share the details with you later. The first point is about negotiations, how we can bring peace to our country, we are focusing on that. We are focusing on how to end the war."

TRUMP'S REMARKABLE STATEMENT REGARDING IRAN

Responding to a question about Iran during the press conference, Trump used harsh language toward the Tehran administration.

Trump stated, "Iran is behaving very badly. They have been bullying in the Middle East for 47 years. There were a few drone and missile attacks. They attacked our ships. We had a very difficult night."

Trump also made notable remarks regarding potential military steps against Iran.

The US President said, "We could strike Iran tonight. We will not allow them to use nuclear weapons. We will see how it proceeds, I am not happy with them. We will have a meeting."
