Downpour causes damage in Artvin
Flooding and landslides occurred in the Hopa district of Artvin due to heavy rainfall. While flooding affected some businesses, a mass of rock and soil that broke off from a hillside damaged 7 vehicles. The Hopa-Artvin highway was also temporarily closed.

As a result of the intermittent downpour in the district, some businesses were flooded, and landslides occurred in various locations. Due to the impact of the rainfall, water channels and manholes in the district center became clogged, causing streets and avenues to be covered with water.
In the Orta Hopa neighborhood, a mass of rock and soil that broke off from a hillside damaged 6 cars and 1 motorcycle in an apartment building's parking lot.
Meanwhile, the Hopa-Artvin highway was also closed at the Sugören junction due to sliding rock and soil masses.
The road was reopened to traffic following the work of the crews.
