Following the latest weather forecast report from the General Directorate of Meteorology, the Ministry of Interior has issued a warning regarding snowfall and heavy rain expected to be effective in 18 provinces. The Ministry stated that citizens should be cautious against adverse conditions, particularly transportation disruptions, floods, inundations, landslides, lightning, strong winds, and the risk of avalanches.

WHICH PROVINCES WILL BE AFFECTED BY SNOWFALL?

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Interior, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, strong sleet and snow are expected in Bitlis, the south of Van, and Hakkari. Additionally, strong downpours and, in some places, thunderstorms are forecast in the surroundings of Siirt, the north of Batman, and Şırnak. In higher altitudes, sleet and snowfall are expected to be effective.

Locally strong downpours and thunderstorms are expected in Adana, Hatay, Osmaniye, and the west of Kahramanmaraş. In these regions, the precipitation is forecast to be in the form of strong sleet and snow at altitudes above 1300 meters.

CITIZENS MUST BE CAUTIOUS

The Ministry also announced that local heavy downpours will be effective in the surroundings of Sakarya, Düzce, Zonguldak, Bartın, Bolu, and Karabük, as well as in the western districts of Kastamonu and the northwestern districts of Ankara (Beypazarı, Nallıhan).

Under these conditions, it was stated that citizens must be careful and cautious against adverse events such as transportation disruptions, floods, inundations, landslides, lightning, strong winds during precipitation, and the risk of avalanches in sloping areas with high snow cover. Furthermore, it was noted that the warnings of authorized bodies must be strictly followed.
