Retired Brigadier General and 12punto columnist Dr. Naim Babüroğlu made striking statements on the program 'Sansürsüz' with Sinem Fıstıkoğlu on Halk TV, which he attended last night.

These remarks by Dr. Babüroğlu became a hot topic on social media.

'2 EXISTENTIAL THREATS TO BE PASSED ON TO FUTURE GENERATIONS'

"For a state to be strong, it needs 4 indispensable pillars.

1- There must be statesmen who know history or advisors who are objective. Because history is a rearview mirror that needs to be looked at occasionally. If you don't look at the rearview mirror occasionally, you will have an accident; but when will we look? We will look at the critical moment.

2- You must have a strong economy. Because when you distribute national power elements, defense budgets, education budgets, etc., that budget must be sufficient.

3- For this region, the Middle East geography, you will need a strong, powerful army. This is the rule of this region. If the army collapses, the state collapses; neither the homeland nor the office remains. Neither remains.

4- There must be a stable foreign policy that is in line with national interests. Realism and full independence are essential in foreign policy. Atatürk says; 'Do not chase after far-fetched ambitions.' In other words, do not chase after dreams you cannot realize. Therefore, your goals, in strategy, your goal; 'We will pray in Damascus,' that is your nice goal, I respect it. Is the goal logical? We will examine it. Is the goal consistent? Is it compatible with Turkey's traditional foreign policy in line with national interests? We will examine it, can the goal be achieved? If there is a problem with one, we cross it out. Dr. Babüroğlu also stated that 57 Muslim countries are also responsible for where Israel has reached today and what is happening in Palestine, pointing to the process that began with the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
