The unbelievable accident occurred in the Akasya neighborhood of Hatay's Antakya district. A construction vehicle traveling in traffic hit 4 vehicles parked on the street. While the vehicles were damaged in the accident, the construction vehicle operator fled the scene. The moments when the construction vehicle plowed through the cars and the operator fled were captured on security cameras. The attempts of citizens who noticed the accident to stop the operator were unsuccessful. Citizens whose vehicles were damaged called the police and filed a complaint against the operator who caused the accident. Police teams have launched an investigation to find the operator.

Local tradesman Taha Yeşil, who requested support from authorities to find a solution to the traffic problems and accidents in the area, described the moment of the accident, saying, “While I was dealing with customers at the workplace, we heard the sound and the noise. When we went outside, the excavator had plowed through 4 vehicles. We immediately jumped onto the road and tried to stop the construction vehicle, but it did not stop. We don't know if he did it intentionally or unintentionally. He tried to stop, but he was busy with something with his hands at that moment. I don't know if he was distracted, but the excavator fled and left. Damage occurred to the vehicles. There were 3 people on the excavator; it didn't stop at all. If it hadn't been done intentionally, they would have stopped.”
