An operation was launched in Hakkâri as part of an investigation into allegations that drugs were being sent to different provinces via air travel. According to a statement from the Hakkâri Governor's Office, the investigation began after it was determined that shipments were being carried out through Hakkâri Selahaddin Eyyubi Airport.

ORGANIZED STRUCTURE IDENTIFIED DURING THREE-MONTH SURVEILLANCE

Within the scope of the investigation coordinated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, three months of physical and technical surveillance were conducted. As a result of these efforts, a criminal structure operating in an organized manner was identified.

AIRPORT PERSONNEL AMONG THE SUSPECTS

Investigations revealed that the suspects were sending narcotics to other provinces via couriers and were receiving support from certain personnel working in subcontracted ground services at the airport during this process.

9 KILOGRAMS OF NARCOTICS SEIZED

In the simultaneous operation, 5 kilograms of synthetic drugs and 4 kilograms of heroin were seized. A total of 15 suspects were apprehended and taken into custody.

The statement from the Hakkari Governor's Office is as follows:

"Within the scope of the work carried out in line with information obtained regarding the shipment of narcotics from Hakkari Selahattin Eyyubi Airport to other provinces, a criminal organization operating in an organized manner has been identified.

Investigations revealed that the suspects carried out drug trafficking through couriers and also received assistance from some personnel working in subcontracted ground services at the airport.

As a result of the physical and technical surveillance conducted under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which lasted for three months, 5 kilograms of METHAMPHETAMINE and 4 kilograms of HEROIN were seized. Within the scope of the operation carried out simultaneously this morning, a total of 15 suspects, who were assessed to be acting in an organized manner, were apprehended and taken into custody.

Judicial proceedings regarding the suspects are ongoing, and the investigation continues.
