Drug operation in 2 provinces: 1 ton 549 kilograms of methamphetamine seized

The Narkoçelik-30 operation was carried out against drug traffickers and manufacturers in Istanbul and Yalova.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 1 ton 549 kilograms of methamphetamine were seized and 8 suspects were apprehended within the scope of the operation.

Yerlikaya provided the following details regarding the operation:

"Under the coordination of the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; as a result of the work carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch, the Yalova Provincial Police Department, and the Yalova Provincial Gendarmerie Command;

It was determined that expert individuals tasked with separating and manufacturing stimulant substances sent to our country from Iran by an organized crime group using the absorption method were sent from Iran to Istanbul, and

Upon the determination that they had begun producing stimulant substances by placing the drugs and stimulants in a farmhouse used as a separation and multiplication center in Yalova, an operation was conducted at 8 different addresses in Istanbul, where 240 kilograms of methamphetamine were seized.

In the operation conducted at 2 different addresses in the Altınova district of Yalova with the support of the Yalova Provincial Police Department and the Provincial Gendarmerie Command;

1 ton 259 kg of liquid methamphetamine,

50 kg of crystal methamphetamine, and

77 kg of intermediate chemical substances were seized."
