Drug operation in Şanlıurfa: 49 detained
49 suspects were detained in a dawn operation targeting drug dealers in Şanlıurfa. Additionally, 25 ISIS members were apprehended during roadside checks in the city.

The Şanlıurfa Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch (KOM) teams are continuing their efforts across the city to prevent the use and sale of narcotics.
In this context, under the instructions of Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Mücahit Avkıran, simultaneous raids were carried out on 49 addresses in 13 districts of the province, targeting street-level dealers known as "torbacı" (baggers), with the participation of 629 gendarmerie personnel. Roadside checks were also conducted on surrounding routes during the operation.
In the operation, which was supported by the Gendarmerie Special Operations Battalion Command teams, the units entered some houses using a "battering ram" and detained 49 suspects on allegations of selling drugs.
During the roadside checks, 25 suspects wanted for various crimes, including members of the terrorist organization ISIS, were apprehended.
In the searches conducted with the help of detector dogs during the operations, 2 long-barreled weapons, 14 unlicensed pistols, 23 unlicensed shotguns, 1,360 rounds of ammunition for these weapons, 31 magazines, 1 kilogram 213 grams of cannabis, 267 grams of synthetic drugs, 6 grams of heroin, 18 drug paraphernalia, 500 packs of smuggled cigarettes, 1 stolen car, and 2 motorcycles were seized.
The suspects were taken to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command for processing.
