According to a report by Deniz Ayhan from Sözcü, the tender for 951 housing units in the Burçkayakuyu neighborhood of Şahinbey, Gaziantep, was won by Ilgın İnşaat, a company owned by İbrahim Halil Yanmaz, who was an AKP parliamentary candidate nominee for Şanlıurfa in the 2011 elections.
It has been learned that contracts totaling 4 billion 598 million 100 thousand TL have been signed with the company, which has received 3 separate earthquake housing tenders in the last 2 years.
A contract worth 1 billion 857 million 100 thousand TL was signed with the company on August 14, 2024. Following the earthquakes, Ilgın İnşaat had won the tender for TOKİ's 5th stage rural project in Gaziantep, consisting of 550 earthquake housing units and 143 barns, in May 2023 for 1 billion 949 million TL.
The company also won the tender held in February 2023 for the construction of 246 housing units, 223 shops, and 56 offices in central Şanlıurfa for 797 million TL.
