Earthquake statement from Minister Yerlikaya: 'Teams have been dispatched to the region'

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Sea of Marmara, Gemlik Bay (off the coast of Mudanya, Bursa) at 10:42.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated the following in his social media post regarding the matter:

"Following the 5.1-magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Gemlik in the Sea of Marmara and was also felt in surrounding provinces, all teams from our relevant institutions, primarily AFAD, have been dispatched to the region for field scanning operations. We are closely monitoring the developments. I extend my best wishes to our citizens affected by the earthquake. May God protect our country and our nation from disasters."
