Earthquake warning for the Malatya Fault from Görür! 'It may be under stress'

Prof. Dr. Naci Görür, in his statement regarding the recent earthquake in Malatya, said, "We had previously stated that the Malatya Fault might be under a certain degree of stress due to the major earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş on February 6. We understand that the region where the earthquake occurred may have been stressed."
According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a 4.3-magnitude earthquake occurred with its epicenter in the Doğanşehir district of Malatya. While no negative incidents were reported following the earthquake, which was also felt in surrounding provinces, schools in the district were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Continuing his warnings following the earthquake in Malatya, Görür stated, "We understand that the region is under stress. More work needs to be done to learn the details."

"Friends, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Beğre/Doğanşehir district of Malatya. The earthquake took place exactly at the southern end of the Malatya Fault. As we have mentioned before, the Malatya Fault may be under a certain degree of stress due to the major earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş on February 6. We understand that the region is under stress. More work needs to be done to learn the details."
