The second September council meeting of the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, which is under AKP administration, was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Mayor Ahmet Bostancı. The first agenda item in the Metropolitan Municipal Council, where 20 agenda items were discussed, was the deliberation of the Planning and Budget Commission Report prepared regarding the request to discuss the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality's 2025-2029 Strategic Plan.

Taking the floor on the report, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Özgür Özer stated that the MTA (General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration) had published a report in February.

'EARTHQUAKE WARNING OF 6.7 MAGNITUDE IN YEŞİLHİSAR'

According to the report by Müslim Evci from Sözcü, Özer mentioned the possibility of a 6.7-magnitude earthquake in the Yeşilhisar district, saying, "It may be time for an earthquake close to 6.7 magnitude in Yeşilhisar. God forbid, there could be major destruction in the Kayseri city center, it says. We need to pay attention to these."

'DO NOT COME BETWEEN US AND GOD'

A response to Özer's speech came from the Chairman of the Planning and Budget Commission and AK Party Council Member Ahmet Tural: "You mentioned air pollution. We are not the ones polluting the air. Coal consumption in our city is at a certain level, and we have already reached natural gas. So, do not come between us and God. These are all natural disasters. You mentioned another report, Yeşilhisar... Mayor Halit must have returned to the district, he left the council saying, 'everyone should evacuate their homes, an earthquake will happen'."
