Eastern Black Sea's 10-month salmon exports increased by 19 percent

Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association Chairman of the Board Saffet Kalyoncu said that 26 thousand 382 tons of Turkish salmon were exported from the region to 20 countries in the first 10 months of 2024.

Stating that 158 million 432 thousand 833 dollars in revenue was generated from the exports, Kalyoncu noted that exports increased by 21 percent in quantity and 19 percent in value compared to the same period last year, when 21 thousand 890 tons were exported for 133 million 220 thousand 467 dollars.

Pointing out that the Russian Federation led the way in Turkish salmon exports this period as it does in every period, Kalyoncu said, "The Russian Federation, Belarus, and Vietnam were the top 3 countries for exports. During this period, 114 million 605 thousand 775 dollars worth of salmon were exported to the Russian Federation, 16 million 257 thousand 476 dollars to Belarus, and 13 million 425 thousand 786 dollars to Vietnam."

Drawing attention to the fact that 96 million 78 thousand 865 dollars of the region's exports were carried out from Trabzon, Kalyoncu said, "Salmon was exported from our province to 15 countries during this period, primarily the Russian Federation, Vietnam, and Belarus. Thus, Trabzon has shouldered 61 percent of the region's exports."

Saffet Kalyoncu added that they attach importance to Turkish salmon exports and that he believes they will complete the year with an increase in exports.
