The minimum wage rate announced by Minister Işıkhan continues to receive intense criticism, particularly from the opposition front. Reactions have been voiced stating that the amount of 28,075 Turkish Liras condemns citizens to hunger.
IMM Mayor İmamoğlu also shared his assessments and criticisms regarding the figure announced on his social media account.
İmamoğlu, who is being held at the Marmara Prison in Silivri, made the following comment:
"Turkey's workers, laborers, and minimum wage earners are not condemned to hunger!
The right of this country's workers is not a minimum wage below the hunger threshold!
The minimum wage announced as 28,075 TL does not even come close to the realities of the nation, that is, the severe cost-of-living crisis.
The announced minimum wage is not a necessity, but a political choice.
The mindset that determines the minimum wage at a table where workers are not present, only with employers, is a mindset that says, 'I am on the side of the rich, not the poor.'
CHP's net minimum wage proposal is 39,000 TL.
God willing, when the people's government comes to power, we will give our workers and minimum wage earners what they deserve, and we will also provide relief to employers with our new economic, industrial, and technology policies.
We will work, we will produce, we will earn, and we will share fairly!"

28 bin 75 TL olarak açıklanan asgari ücret, milletin gerçeklerinin, yani ağır geçim sıkıntısının yanından bile geçmiyor.…
