Ekrem İmamoğlu sends a message from Silivri

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held at Marmara Prison, has shared his first letter. İmamoğlu stated, "Hope is very great. It has devastated a handful of bad people. Their fears have increased. They will be afraid, let them be afraid." İmamoğlu also invited the public to Saraçhane again this evening.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been arrested, has shared his first letter from Marmara Prison.

İmamoğlu used the following expressions on his social media account:

"Hello everyone, may your Ramadan be blessed,

My very precious citizens, mothers, fathers, my aunts, my uncles, dear young people, our diamond children; I embrace each of you with love, respect, and warmth.

Despite all the misery experienced and inflicted, the disreputable decisions in the judiciary that have made us all bow our heads, the state our economy has fallen into, and the destruction of our international reputation, a democratic revolution has taken place, and on March 23, with the votes of my CHP fellow travelers and all our citizens, the presidential candidate was chosen by the people. This is a magnificent situation. Hope is very great. It has devastated a handful of bad people. Their fears have increased. They will be afraid, let them be afraid. Because together with our nation, we represent the Turkey alliance. We represent the noble values of the Republic of Turkey, democracy. We represent the future, justice, the rule of law, equality, unity, and togetherness. We represent the values of this heavenly homeland, development, good education, reason, science, art, sports, and a quality life. We are the guarantors of the future happy lives and peace of even the families of the handful of people who are very afraid today.

I am working very hard. I will work even harder. Where I am does not really matter. My diamond young people; feel me in the chair next to you while you work at your desks. I am in the workshops of the laborers, in the fields of the farmers, at the feet of our grandmothers. I am in the play circles of the children. We will succeed together. I will continue to watch you at 20.30 this evening in Saraçhane and in all the squares.

Dear Young People;

Stay away from conflicts. My beloved security forces, our police, treat our people well. I want to see all of you with smiling faces this evening. The nation is great.
