Ekrem İmamoğlu shares post for Ahmet Özer this time: A legal massacre
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained at the Marmara Prison in Silivri, drew attention to the injustice faced by Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer in a post on his social media account.

Pointing out that Özer has been detained for seven months, Ekrem İmamoğlu objected to the Esenyurt Mayor being accused through a defunct terrorist organization and used the following expressions:
Our Esenyurt Mayor, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer, has been held in prison unlawfully for exactly seven months. Those who try to seize Esenyurt, which they could not win through elections, by appointing a trustee have been carrying out a legal massacre for months by accusing our Mayor Ahmet Özer of terrorism.
While Turkey is going through a critical process on the path to ending terrorism and democratization, the mentality destined to lose, which considers the “representation of Kurds in the West in local governments”(!) a crime, is depriving our Mayor Ahmet Özer of his freedom for this very reason.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer is a respected scientist and politician who has dedicated his years to the growth of peace and brotherhood in this country. Accusing the Mayor of being involved with a self-dissolved organization is an attack on our goal of a Terror-Free and Democratic Turkey. I hope that this shame will be ended immediately, that the Mayor will be released, and that he will return to his duty as required by the will of the people of Esenyurt.
