Ekrem İmamoğlu's prosecutor statement revealed

91 people, including IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who were taken into custody as part of corruption and terrorism investigations into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), were referred to the courthouse following their procedures at the police station. The testimony process for Ekrem İmamoğlu, who appeared before the prosecutor in two separate investigations, has concluded.

"IT HAS DAMAGED TURKEY'S REPUTATION"

In his statement to the prosecutor, İmamoğlu said the following:

"As someone who has been in detention for 4 days, the fact that the investigations being conducted are hollow, filled with fabricated questions that cross the boundaries of morality, and that their strongest basis is tied to the statements of secret witnesses, along with being filled with MASAK reports containing erroneous findings just 3-5 days before the detention, has created a process that will go down in history as a black mark. This process has damaged Turkey's reputation.

The 6 fabricated cases created before being taken into custody, the request for nearly 30 years of imprisonment, the diploma cancelled by Istanbul University, and the investigation personally served just one day before the detention aimed at closing down nurseries are proof of these people's malicious intentions.

"I WILL NOT BOW DOWN"

As someone who has always expressed the system that allowed a child raised in Trabzon, loyal to the unity and integrity of his state, to become the Mayor of Istanbul, and who has never forgotten the principle of Atatürk's legacy, 'Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation,' in his service, and who has fought through legal means throughout his life, I will not bow down to this judicial harassment; our nation knows my right very well throughout my life.

Our nation tells every person who eats rights to their face on the street, and I have expressed everywhere that I will defend my rights throughout my life. I voice my principle of 'I do not eat rights, and I do not let my rights be eaten' with the great wisdom of our nation, and I give voice to my nation. With this principle and my faith, I state that my belief that our nation will wage this struggle for rights at the highest level is great. These slanders will hit the walls in the bosom of our nation and bounce back."
