Ekrem İmamoğlu's reaction to the Super Cup: 'We will be one, we will be great, we will be vibrant'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is giving a speech at the opening ceremony held at Barbaros Square.

Following the cancellation of the Super Cup final, which was planned to be played in Saudi Arabia, due to the refusal to allow posters and t-shirts featuring Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, İmamoğlu, who had invited the people of Istanbul to Beşiktaş Square, evaluated the decision of Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray to not take the field and return to the country as a correct step.

Finding the planning of the Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia to be a mistake, İmamoğlu raised the question, "Who is the architect of this decision?" In his statements from the podium in the square, İmamoğlu used the following expressions:

MESSAGE FROM İMAMOĞLU REGARDING LOCAL ELECTIONS

Continuing, İmamoğlu touched upon the local elections and said, "The era of interregnum in Istanbul ended in 2019." Emphasizing his projects, he stated, "We are continuing on our path with a populist, democratic understanding that loves its nation and protects and strengthens its state."
