Election crisis in Zonguldak Provincial General Assembly: Gendarmerie called to the hall

In the assembly, where the CHP and AKP are each represented by 16 members, tension erupted following the count, leading to a scuffle in the hall.
The CHP claimed that their votes were being unfairly invalidated. As the tension escalated, the gendarmerie was called to the hall.
In an unofficial assessment made following the objections, it was alleged that Karaveli received 16 votes and Kartal received 15.
The CHP, however, argued that the result was a 16-16 tie and that two votes cast in favor of Kartal were being unfairly invalidated.
CHP Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz stated in a press statement outside the election hall that they were intervening in the process.
Yavuzyılmaz said, "The same person will be the chairman, manage the election, sit on the council, be a candidate, and arbitrarily invalidate CHP's votes. We are not allowing this."
