CHP District Chair Gülseren Solmaz Altunal stated that they filed the objection due to power outages, some ballot bags not being sealed, and inconsistencies in the records, noting that these issues could affect the election results.
Altunal indicated that the district election board has taken the application under review. According to unofficial results in the Körfez district, where AK Party candidate Şener Söğüt won the mayoral race with 34,209 votes and CHP candidate Tayfun Balıkçı received 32,814 votes, a recount of the votes has been requested.
