Election warnings from the Police Department

A statement was issued by the Erzurum Police Department ahead of the March 31, 2024, Local Administration General Elections.

The statement included the following remarks: “Due to the local administration general elections, election offices opened by political parties and independent candidates to conduct campaign activities in electoral districts must be closed by 18:00 on March 30, 2024. 

Propaganda via loudspeakers is prohibited after 18:00 on March 30, 2024, when election propaganda ends. 

Propaganda materials (posters, party flags, pennants, etc., belonging to political parties, independent candidates, and mukhtar candidates) hanging in various parts of our city and on citizens' residences, workplaces, and vehicles must legally be removed by 18:00 on March 30, 2024. 

After this date, the specified propaganda materials may only be displayed at the headquarters, provincial buildings, district buildings, and town buildings of political parties. Badges, emblems, or similar signs belonging to political parties and candidates, or publications for propaganda purposes, may not be carried in the buildings, structures, and annexes where ballot boxes are placed. 

In accordance with the decision of the Supreme Election Council, no street vendors, bicycles, or any vehicles, except in cases of necessity, will be permitted to enter school courtyards where ballot boxes are located.”
