Electric heater causes fire in Adana: 3 dead

In a fire caused by an overturned electric heater in Adana, a mother, father, and one of their twin children lost their lives due to smoke inhalation, while the other child is fighting for his life in the hospital.

According to the information obtained, the incident occurred in the Köklüce neighborhood of the Yüreğir district. It is alleged that the mother, Nazan (34), the father, Enis (39), and their 2-year-old twin sons, Demir and Kaan Lamba, went to sleep with the electric heater left on after entering the new year at night.

Around 06:00 in the morning, a neighbor who went outside saw that the Lamba family's house was on fire and immediately notified the fire department.

The teams that arrived at the scene intervened in a short time and extinguished the fire. The teams that entered the house brought out the mother, father, and the twin brothers.

Medical teams arriving at the scene intervened to help the mother, father, and the twin brothers, but it was determined that the mother, father, and one of the twin children, Kaan, had lost their lives due to smoke poisoning.

Demir Lamba, whose condition was critical, was resuscitated after minutes of heart massage performed by the fire department teams.

Demir Lamba was subsequently taken to Adana City Hospital. The mother, father, and child who lost their lives were taken to the morgue of the forensic medicine institution for autopsy. The police have launched an investigation into the fire.
