According to the information obtained, the Turkish Airlines flight TK-2658, a Boeing B737-800 type aircraft with tail registration TC-JVG, took off from Istanbul Airport at 08:25 to perform its Sivas flight.
Shortly after the plane took off, the cockpit window cracked for unknown reasons.
Upon this, the pilot of the aircraft contacted the Istanbul Airport Air Traffic Control Center and requested permission to return.
The aircraft with the cracked cockpit window landed at Istanbul Airport without incident at 09:10.
PASSENGERS TO BE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER PLANE
After the Turkish Airlines plane landed at Istanbul Airport, it was taken for maintenance to have its window replaced, while the passengers will be sent to Sivas on a new aircraft allocated to replace the one with the cracked window.
