Emotional farewell to Altan Öymen from journalist Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu
Journalist Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu shared an emotional farewell message for the late Altan Öymen. Describing him as "a defender of the enlightenment revolutions and one of the finest people this country has ever raised," Mollaveisoğlu also recalled the last program Öymen participated in, stating, "We didn't get to see that day, Altan brother... The passing of Altan Öymen, one of the doyens of the Turkish press, was met with great sadness by journalist Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu. In a post on his social media account, Mollaveisoğlu expressed his feelings following Öymen's death with the following words:
"I am deeply saddened by the loss of my highly esteemed senior colleague, one of the finest people this country has ever raised, who fit so many titles and achievements into his life, and who was a defender of the enlightenment revolutions, my dear Altan Öymen..."
Mollaveisoğlu also referred to a comprehensive interview he conducted with Öymen about 10 months ago, expressing his sorrow by saying, "I had said, 'We will talk about the media one day too.' We didn't get to see that day, Altan brother... Rest in light, beautiful human..."
Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu also added the link to the last program Öymen participated in to his post. Stating that Öymen always shone a light with his assessments, Mollaveisoğlu recalled that in that program, during the analysis on Özgür Özel, Ekrem İmamoğlu, and Mansur Yavaş, the phrase "There is no bread for the AKP here" was also included.
