According to the 2023 activity report released by İŞKUR, it was observed that the job placement rate declined by 11.37 percent compared to the previous year.
Despite an increase in the number of job openings, the decline in job placement rates drew attention.
Job postings increased by 15.62 percent in 2023.
Accordingly, it was projected that 1 million 340 thousand 95 people would be placed in jobs in the private sector through the agency. However, the number of people placed in jobs in the private sector remained at 1 million 220 thousand 510.
TARGETS ALSO MISSED IN ON-THE-JOB TRAINING PROGRAM
According to the report by Havva Gümüşkaya from BirGün; while the total decline in the job placement rate was 11.37 percent, the job placement rate for women decreased by 10.8 percent and for youth by 11.84 percent.
It also emerged that the agency failed to reach its targets in on-the-job training programs organized to improve the professional qualifications of the unemployed. According to the target of increasing the number of participants in the on-the-job training program organized by the agency by 5 percent compared to the previous year's target, 382 thousand 885 people were expected to participate. However, only 48 thousand 817 people participated.
According to the same targets, while the number of female participants was planned to be 191 thousand 442, participation remained at 26 thousand 761.
The number of people who benefited from vocational training courses was 1 thousand 654.
