Entry to 11 regions in Şırnak banned for 15 days

The Şırnak Governor's Office has once again declared 11 regions, including the Cudi and Gabar mountains, as "special security" zones, banning entry for 15 days. 

The statement issued by the Şırnak Governor's Office included the following remarks: 

"In order to ensure national security, protect public order and safety, prevent the commission of crimes, safeguard fundamental rights and freedoms as well as the rights and freedoms of others and general public order, prevent the occurrence of violent incidents, and forestall any potential negative situations within the administrative borders of Şırnak province, pursuant to Article 11, paragraph (c) of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Article 32/A of the Military Forbidden Zones and Security Zones Law No. 2565;

It has been declared by the Şırnak Governor's Office that the Bestler Dereler Region located within the borders of the central district of Şırnak; the Gabar Mountain Region located within the borders of the central district and Güçlükonak district of Şırnak; the Cudi Mountain Region located within the borders of the central district, Silopi, and Cizre districts of Şırnak; the Kurt Mountain Region located within the borders of the central district, Silopi, and Uludere districts of Şırnak; the Kelmehmetler-Dönmezler-Kovankaya, Tahtareş, and İncebel Mountains Regions located within the borders of the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak; the Altındağları Region located within the borders of the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak; and the Oymakaya Region located within the borders of the Beytüşşebap and Uludere districts of Şırnak, for which coordinate information is available in the table below, are declared 'Temporary Special Security Zones' for a period of (15) fifteen days between March 13, 2025 (inclusive) and March 27, 2025 (inclusive), to prevent citizens who may travel to the aforementioned regions from being harmed by illegal elements in said regions and by the measures to be taken against them.

It is respectfully announced to the public that our citizens may enter the declared regions between these dates by obtaining permission from the competent authorities within the scope of the Military Forbidden Zones and Security Zones Law No. 2565, and that otherwise, criminal proceedings will be initiated in accordance with Article 66 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442." 

A 15-day ban had also been implemented in the region in February.
