Entry to forests in Balıkesir banned until September 30
The Balıkesir Governor's Office has banned entry to forests between June 15 and September 30 due to rising temperatures and fire risks. Lighting fires in recreational areas, nature parks, and day-use areas has also been prohibited.

It has been announced that entry into forested areas across Balıkesir is prohibited until September 30. In a statement from the Governor's Office, it was noted that high air temperatures and extraordinary weather conditions are expected across Balıkesir starting from June.
For this reason, it was recorded that, due to the high risk of forest fires, entry into recreational areas, forest parks, nature parks, day-use areas, and forests is prohibited between June 15 and September 30, in accordance with the Balıkesir Forest Fire Fighting Commission Decision.
SOME AREAS EXEMPTED
The statement indicated that if the possibility of forest fires persists, the duration of the ban may be extended by the Governor's Office upon the recommendation of the Regional Directorate of Forestry.
Furthermore, it was stated that throughout the fire season, picnicking and camping in all forested areas outside of those designated by the commission are prohibited, as is lighting fires for purposes such as barbecues, samovars, and similar activities.
