Enver Altaylı’s testimony revealed: 'I am facing an atmosphere as if Kozinoğlu’s killer has been found'

As part of the investigation into the death of Kozinoğlu in prison, former intelligence officer and FETÖ convict Enver Altaylı, who testified as a 'suspect', was arrested on charges of 'inciting intentional homicide'. Altaylı’s testimony at the Criminal Judgeship of Peace has been revealed.

While Altaylı denied the accusations against him, he stated, "I am facing an atmosphere as if Kozinoğlu’s killer has been found and his name is Enver Altaylı."

As part of the investigation conducted by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the suspicious death of former MİT official Kaşif Kozinoğlu, who lost his life in Silivri Prison in 2011, former intelligence officer and FETÖ convict Enver Altaylı was brought from the prison where he is being held to the Silivri Courthouse to testify as a 'suspect'. Altaylı used the following expressions:

"A campaign has been carried out against me for weeks. I will turn 83 in a month, and I have been in prison for 9 years. I have not fled anywhere, but people who follow television and newspapers are facing an atmosphere as if Kaşif Kozinoğlu’s killer has been found and his name is Enver Altaylı. They took the phrase ‘neutralized’ from a text that I have denied for years belongs to me and carried it to such a point that other publications are now openly using headlines like ‘dark execution plan’. It is written that the ‘execution and liquidation plan’ outlined in the letter is being implemented step by step. From a text in which the word ‘execution’ does not even appear, the conclusion is drawn that I practically gave an execution order regarding Kaşif Kozinoğlu, planned his death, or targeted him.

I have not accepted the so-called letters that are said to have come out of my house since the very first day. I said, 'They do not belong to me.' I am saying the same thing today: They do not belong to me. The state takes my phone, my computer, my CD, my flash drive, my digital materials; it must preserve them in the state they were in the moment it took them. For it to be able to say that whatever is inside after months have passed was put there by Enver Altaylı, it must first show what state that material was in at the moment the state took it. This was not done. The first forensic copies of the digital materials were not taken on the day they were seized, but weeks later. The fact that the subsequently taken copy matches the device of that day tells me nothing. I am asking you, ‘What happened to this device while it was in your possession?’

You tell me, ‘The copy you took 1.5 months later is identical to the device at that date.’ Of course, it might be identical. I am asking about the 1.5 months prior. Koray Peksayar, who presented an expert opinion to this file, is not an ordinary name. The same person also examined my digital materials. Regarding the digital material where these so-called letters currently circulating about Kaşif Kozinoğlu were found, a problem of tampering and evidence integrity was detected.

I did not write a letter to be sent to the FETÖ ringleader starting with ‘My Respected Sir’ and subsequently saying for Kaşif Kozinoğlu, ‘This man is targeting service personnel. This person must be neutralized.’ This letter was written 4 years before Kozinoğlu died. Furthermore, I do not know Kozinoğlu at all, and I have never reported to anyone about him. These allegations have been put forward due to digital materials that are not evidence. The obtained digital materials have been tampered with. I have health problems. I do not accept the accusation leveled against me."
