Erbakan, a prominent figure in the local elections, comments on 'causing the AKP to lose'

When asked whether his party caused the AKP to lose in the local elections, Erbakan said, "We did not cause them to lose in any province.

I looked into it specifically. The point difference is much higher than our vote share.

In fact, in some places, the MHP caused the AKP to lose. For example, in Yozgat, Adıyaman, and Kilis... But we did not have such an impact anywhere."

In response to the assessment that "the situation would not have changed even if you hadn't fielded a candidate in Istanbul," Erbakan said, "It wouldn't have changed. There is an 11-point difference. We have 2.6."

When asked if he had met with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the election, he replied, "We have not met."

"I GUESS WE ARE NOT IN THE ALLIANCE"

When asked, "Are you currently in the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı)?", Erbakan replied, "I guess we are not, according to what they say. That is what they say. We have always been within the National View (Milli Görüş). We called right 'right' and wrong 'wrong.' We did the same thing now and will continue to do so. But when that side reached the point of 'don't call wrong wrong, call everything right,' we couldn't quite agree."

When asked for his assessment of the election results, Erbakan stated, "The economy had a huge impact on the election. It felt like a general election. We also sympathize with the citizens. Because it is very difficult to live under these conditions. In addition to this, the Gaza issue had a huge impact. The nation has great sensitivity on that point. The accumulation of all these factors led to such a result."

When asked, "Have you been able to establish any contact with the main opposition leader?", Erbakan replied, "We spoke during the holiday. Thank you, they called to offer holiday greetings. We spoke then, and we will speak again."

RESTRICTIONS ON TRADE WITH ISRAEL

When reminded of the export restrictions on Israel and asked, "Have you achieved your goal regarding Gaza?", Erbakan said, "It is still a positive step compared to nothing being done at all."

Stating that they also have objections regarding the Kürecik Radar Base in Malatya, Erbakan said, "The intelligence gathered there is used in a way that benefits Israel via the US and the UK. That is why we say let's close Kürecik; we ask, 'Why should we provide intelligence to them?'"

Announcing that they would express this issue at a press conference they will hold in Parliament tomorrow, Erbakan stated, "Even if we cannot go there and fight, we must implement these sanctions. Restricting trade was one step, but so is Kürecik. We are an independent, sovereign state; why should we provide them with intelligence while so much massacre and brutality is happening right before our eyes? We want it closed."

When asked for his assessment regarding the new constitution efforts, Erbakan replied, "We need to see what they want to do with it. After we see that, we will evaluate it with our authorized bodies and legal experts, and we will take a stance accordingly."

Stating that the results of the Local Administration General Elections were below their expectations, Erbakan said, "We were met with much higher interest in the field.

We received 6.98 percent in the Provincial General Assembly and 6.2 percent in the mayoral elections. We exceeded 10 percent in 110 districts and 20 percent in 140 districts, and we received over 10 percent in 20 provinces, with a total of over 3 million votes..." he shared.
