Erbakan targets LGBTI+ individuals

Yeniden Refah Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan targeted LGBTI+ individuals, stating, "We will never, ever allow the LGBT perversion, which is a very important project of foreign powers and the scourge of the century, on the lands of this nation that has been the standard-bearer for Islam for a thousand years."

Arriving in Kocaeli, Yeniden Refah Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan first met with citizens on the İzmit walking path. Afterward, Erbakan introduced the Kocaeli mayoral candidates at a meeting held. Speaking at the meeting, Erbakan targeted LGBTI+ individuals.

"WE WILL SHUT DOWN 17 LGBT ASSOCIATIONS"

Describing LGBTI+ individuals as a "project of foreign powers," Erbakan used the following expressions in his statement:

"Ethical municipalism will protect our generations and our cities against drug and LGBT attacks. We will protect our cities and our generations from the scourge of drugs with projects to take the necessary measures to prevent drug addiction, and for the therapy and rehabilitation of those addicted to drugs. We will never, ever allow the LGBT perversion, which is a very important project of foreign powers and the scourge of the century, on the lands of this nation that has been the standard-bearer for Islam for a thousand years. We will never allow its propaganda or events to take place in our municipalities' halls, stages, buildings, organizations, institutions, or on our billboards. Hopefully, when the Yeniden Refah Party comes to power in 2028, we will shut down the 17 LGBT associations that have been established since 2004 as soon as we take office."
